The Community Land Trust program will allow you to purchase a home and lease the land. By taking the cost of the land out of the real estate transaction, land trust homes are more affordable than houses on the open real estate market. While the City of Austin does not currently have any Community Land Trust homes available, please check back frequently.

The Down Payment Assistance Program covers the down payment in a deferred 0% interest loan to help eligible "first-time homebuyers" buy a home in Austin. Only Trained Loan Officers (see Loan Officer Training, below) registered on the List of Participating Lenders can submit DPA applications for potential homeowners.

For first-time homebuyers, purchasing and maintaining a home and a mortgage can be stressful and confusing. The City of Austin seeks to help with Homebuyer counseling.

The City of Austin Developer Incentive Program incentivizes private and nonprofit developers to set aside affordable rental and ownership units in market rate developments for low- and moderate-income households.
