Follow these steps to become the attorney of record on a case and gain access to the Attorney Inquiry Portal.
1. Check that the case has been filed in our court using the online portal.
Please do not submit a letter of representation until the case is filed in our court.
2. Submit a letter of representation to the court including:
- your email address
- the defendant’s name and date of birth
- the case or citation numbers
- a plea of not guilty or request for other options
- By fax

3. Once you are an attorney of record on a case, you will be notified by email regarding court dates.
Additionally, the Attorney Inquiry Portal will allow you to see the status and documents of the case as well as your upcoming court dates. If you have not registered before with the court, you may get access by calling 512-974-4692 or coming to our Main Courthouse.
