Background
The current road has many large potholes and instances of complete road failure due to drainage problems, heavy use, and the overall age of the asphalt.
Project Description
The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department will rebuild portions of the parking lot and road to reduce future failure along the heavily trafficked access road. During construction, alternate parking areas will be available to vehicles, and portions of the road will be re-routed. Nearby parking lots at the Mary Moore Off-Leash Trail at 9401 S 1st St, Austin, TX 78748, and The Metro Park Trail Access at 701 Decker Prairie Lane, Austin, TX 78748

Anticipated Project Schedule
- Early February 2023: Begin work along edges of road and parking lot. Installing ribbon curbs. COMPLETE
- February 2023: Phasing work along the entry road. Traffic lanes will be closed in phases. COMPLETE
- March 2023: Closure of Parking Lot and Entry Road on March 6th to March 9th. COMPLETE
Please note that, as in any construction project, schedules are projected as accurately as possible, but all dates are subject to change due to the nature of construction and the weather.

This project is funded by the 2018 parks bond for parking and roadway improvements.
