Austin Animal Center, Dove Springs Proud, and Councilmember Vanessa Fuentes are teaming up to provide a FREE drive-thru microchip clinic at Dove Springs Rec Center!

Microchips are the number one way to get your pet back home if they ever get lost. 

Dogs must be on leash; cats and puppies must be in a carrier.

What is a microchip?

A microchip is a tiny device that’s about the size of a grain of rice. It is implanted under the skin between a pet’s shoulder blades, although it can sometimes move to other parts of the body.

A microchip’s sole purpose is to store a unique ID number that can then be used to identify the pet’s owner. Microchips do not function as GPS units or devices - they do not track or locate.
