Feeding the 5000 is coming to Austin!
On Thursday, October 19th, come by the south lawn of the State Capitol for a delicious lunch sourced entirely from fresh, quality produce that would have otherwise been wasted. There is no shortage of amazing food in Austin. Yet, every year we toss out tons of it – at a huge cost to our community, wallet, and planet.
In addition to the free lunch, Feeding the 5000 Austin will feature a variety of activities, including cooking demonstrations, guest speakers, community organizations, and more.
The event will take place the week of World Food Day, in celebration of the huge potential to aid global hunger through improvements to our food system. Like any good celebration, everyone is welcome!
Come enjoy a free lunch with your colleagues, friends and family, and learn how Austin can take food waste off the menu! Want to stay updated? We’ll be posting event updates on this page.
