THIS PROPOSED ACTION AUTHORIZES THE EXTENSION OF THE MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT WITH THE DOWNTOWN AUSTIN ALLIANCE (DAA) FOR THE AUSTIN DOWNTOWN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (PID) SERVICES FOR ANOTHER TEN (10) YEAR PERIOD, SUBJECT TO ANNUAL SERVICE PLAN AND BUDGET APPROVAL BY CITY COUNCIL. THE DAA IS THE ADVISORY BODY DESCRIBED IN CHAPTER 372, TEXAS LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE CREATED TO MANAGE THE PID. THE DAA WAS CREATED IN 1993 AND HAS MANAGED THE DOWNTOWN PID THROUGH A CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF AUSTIN SINCE ITS INCEPTION.
