Description: Eng Svs for the Future Downtown (GIS) Substation 
Summary: Austin Energy (AE) is seeking a qualified engineering firm to perform engineering and professional services for the construction of a gas insulated switchgear (GIS) substation. The GIS substation will be situated on property owned by the City of Austin at 55 East Avenue. The GIS substation will include two (2) or three (3) 138/35kV 70 MVA network transformers, nine (9) distribution circuits, and provisions for up to four (4) additional circuits. The new substation will be cut into the Seaholm-Pedernales 138 kV transmission line (Circuit (CKT) 1015). Engineering and professional service disciplines under this contract may include civil, environmental, electrical, structural, geotechnical, community involvement and or other types of engineering project related services. The services should be performed by engineering firms regularly engaged in municipal capital improvement projects related to substation, specifically gas insulated, substation design. The professional services to be provided on this project will consist of engineering design, project management, community involvement, and construction phase services.
