The Austin/ Travis County Community Health Assessment (CHA) is a systematic examination of the health status of a population as well as key assets and challenges related to health in a community. The CHA describes health broadly to include clinical health, health behaviors, social and economic factors, and environmental factors that impact the health status of community residents. Resident are encouraged to provide input on the CHA during the public comment period.
Who: Anyone who lives, learns, works, or plays in Austin or Travis County is welcome to give feedback on the CHA during the public comment period.
What: While all feedback is welcome, we specifically want to know your opinion on two chapters: Key Themes and Community Themes and Strengths. Is anything missing? Do you think this is an accurate portrayal of health in your community?
When: This draft will be available for public comment from September 27, 2017 through October 27, 2017.

The CHA/CHIP process is a collaborative effort of the Austin and Travis County community, led by a group of dedicated organizations including Austin Public Health, Capital Metro, Central Health, Austin Transportation Department, Integral Care, St. David’s Foundation, Seton Healthcare Family, Travis County Health and Human Services, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Public Health Austin Regional Campus, and University of Texas Dell Medical School.
