Suspect: Luis Angel Castilleja, Hispanic male, 27-years-old
On Saturday, December 31, 2022, at approximately 11:42 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a single-vehicle crash near the 8200 block of Research Blvd (Hwy 183 SB). A preliminary investigation revealed that Luis Angel Castilleja was traveling at a high rate when he crashed head-on into a concrete barrier. Two women were traveling with Castilleja; One was ejected from the car, and the other was seriously injured. Castilleja left the area and did not attempt to help either passenger.
Detectives believe Castilleja may be in the Austin, Kyle, or the San Marcos Area. He is charged with (2) Counts of Accident Causing Serious Bodily Injury (3rd Degree Felony) and (2) Counts of Aggravated Assault (2nd Degree Felony).
