Location: 3800 block of S 2nd St./South Center St.
On Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at approximately 10:06 p.m., Austin police responded to the 3800 block of S 2nd Street/South Center St. for an assault that had just occurred. The victim told officers that she was walking with her dogs on South Center St. when a male came up behind her and put her in a “chokehold”. The victim fought the attacker off at which time he fled westbound on foot towards 2nd St.
Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on scene and treated the victim. APD K9 and Air1 also responded to assist with the search for the suspect.
The suspect is described as:
- White or Hispanic male
- Approximately 5’4” to 5’5”
- Stocky/broad/muscular build
- Tan complexion
- Short dark hair with straight-cut sideburns
- Round chin
- Hairy arms
- Last seen wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, long dark shorts, and a grey t-shirt
