The Austin Police Department Aggravated Assault Unit is requesting the community’s help with a deadly conduct investigation. The incident occurred on Friday, August 21, 2020. At approximately 11:43 a.m., 911 received multiple calls of shots being fired from a black sedan, possibly a Hyundai Sonata, at an older-model black Mitsubishi. The sedan, pictured below, appeared to be actively chasing the Mitsubishi on the highway.

Officers made contact with witnesses, canvassed the area for video and located a number of shell casings on scene. It is unclear, at this point in the investigation, whether anyone was struck by gunfire.

Anyone with information is asked to reach out.
