FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Release Date: Jan. 27, 2022
Contact: APD Public Information Office     512-974-5017    Email

Case:               21-2031085

Date:               Thursday, July 22, 2021 through Thursday, October 14, 2021

Location:         Electronics and Cell Phones Stores throughout Austin

The Austin Police Department’s (APD) Robbery Unit is requesting help from the communities of Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston to identify four suspects involved in numerous “ambush-style” robberies and thefts from electronics and cellphone stores. These four individuals are working as an organized criminal enterprise.

They are entering stores and tearing display models of phones, tablets and laptops from their security cords and then running from the store. The suspects have assaulted multiple people, threatened them and indicated they are carrying firearms.

The suspects are known to have committed similar offenses in San Antonio and Farmers Branch, and are likely responsible for many more offenses that have not yet been linked. We believe them to still be actively operating within the Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio communities. The suspects and vehicle descriptions are below.

SUSPECT #1

  • Black male, 20 to 30-years-old, 6'0", heavy build, large bright earrings and tattoo sleeve on his left arm.

SUSPECT #2

  • Black male, 25-years-old, 6'3", athletic build, short black hair and a tattoo sleeve on his right arm with a Houston Rockets Logo on his right triceps.

SUSPECT #3

  • Black male, 25-years-old, 6'3", large athletic build, short braids in his hair and has a pattern tattoo on the right side of his neck.

SUSPECT #4

  • Black male, 20-years-old, 6'3", thin build, and large bright stud earrings.

SUSPECT VEHICLE

  • Using various temporary and dealer paper plates

Anyone with information about these incidents, or any Department conducting similar investigations into these suspects, is asked to call the APD Robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS or use the new Crime Stoppers App. You can also submit tips by downloading APD’s mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone and Android.
