Location: 1600 block of Rutland Drive
On Monday, August 26, 2019 at 11:49 p.m., officers responded to a Shoot/Stab Hot Shot call at the apartment complex located in the 1600 block of Rutland Drive. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim, a 36-year-old Hispanic male with multiple gunshot wounds. The suspects were no longer on scene. Officers performed life-saving measures on the victim until Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) arrived. ATCEMS transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation shows that the victim was approached by multiple suspects in the parking lot. The suspects shot the victim and then fled from the area on foot. A motive is not known at this time. The suspects are described as:
- Suspect #1 Black male, 18-19 years old, black hoodie, thin build
- Suspect #2 Black male, 18-19 years old, gray hoodie, thin build
- Suspect #3 light-skinned Black male, 18-19 years old, 1.5 “ spiky twists in hair, thin build
- Possibly 4th Black male suspect
