COVID-19 Update

Extension includes alignment with CDC orders and clarification on commercial evictions

Austin, Texas – Today, Sept. 30, the City of Austin extended and updated the restrictions related to the Notices to Vacate through Dec. 31, which is the same day as the expiration date of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) order related to residential evictions.

The updated order can be found on the COVID-19 Orders and Rules page under “Current Orders.”

Updates to the order, outside of the extension to Dec. 31, include the circumstances when a landlord is prohibited from issuing a Notice to Vacate to residential and commercial evictions.
