$3.5 million in grants available through the Live Music Fund Event Program

Applications for $3.5 million Live Music Fund Event Program opens Tuesday, April 4

The City of Austin Economic Development Department announces $3.5 million in support through the Live Music Fund Event Program. The program will offer $5,000 and $10,000 grants for local professional musicians, bands, and independent promoters to produce and publicize awarded projects. Grant funds may be used to cover expenses for music events, studio and video production, staffing and professional services, merchandise distribution, music broadcasting, and more. Application for the Live Music Fund Event Program will open Tuesday, April 4 at 10 a.m. through Tuesday, May 16 at 5 p.m.

“We recognize the immense cultural and economic value that our local musicians and independent promoters bring to our community,” explains Sylnovia Holt-Rabb, Director for the Economic Development Department. “Supporting and investing in their projects enriches Austin’s vibrant music scene and contributes to our city’s overall prosperity and identity as the Live Music Capital of the World.”

Eligible applicants must live in the Austin-Round Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area—which includes Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties—and must host the proposed activities in an Austin City Council District and/or Austin’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. Grants will be awarded on a competitive basis and scored according to access to services, preservation, innovation, elevation and collaboration, and project budget. El Departamento de Desarrollo Económico de la Ciudad de Austin anuncia subvenciones de $3.5 millones a través del Programa de Eventos del Fondo para la Música en Vivo.
