AUSTIN, TX – The City of Austin Economic Development Department invites vendors to apply to administer the People’s Gallery 2022 exhibition. The annual art exhibition showcases local artists throughout the first three floors of Austin City Hall. Interested vendors can respond to the Request for Quotes from Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. – Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. at www.austintexas.gov/peoplesgallery.
Austin City Hall has been an annual showcase for works by Austin artists and arts organizations since 2005. The People's Gallery reflects the artistic excellence and diversity of Austin. It also promotes the City of Austin’s cultural and economic initiatives. Each year, over 1,200 submissions are received from artists, galleries and collectors who generously offer to loan their art. Over 140 artworks are typically selected for exhibition throughout City Hall for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. All requirements for the selected vendor are outlined in the Request for Quotes. Vendors can also participate in a virtual Pre-Bid Meeting on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. The virtual Pre-Bid Meeting will include a presentation about the Request for Quotes and a tour of the current People’s Gallery exhibition. Vendors do not need to participate in the virtual Pre-Bid Meeting to submit a Request for Quotes.
