The City of Austin's Contractor will begin street improvements to a segment of Southwest Parkway on Monday, March 9.
Work will consist of surface milling, asphalt overlay, striping and installation of traffic signal loop indicators. The improvements will provide enhanced safety and pavement quality for drivers on Southwest Parkway.
The limits of the project are both eastbound and westbound lanes on Southwest Parkway from S Mopac Service Road to Mission Oaks Boulevard. Some lane closures may be in effect during working hours. Vehicles will always have access on SW Parkway in both directions.
Timeframe:
The Contractor will begin milling and paving on Monday, March 9. The overall project is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Work hours:
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday
7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
Lane closures will not always be in effect during these times. Striping and signal indicator installation will have less of an impact on traffic.
Schedules are projected as accurately as possible, but are subject to change.
