Deceased:   Samuel Stephens, White male, 12/17/1962
 
The preliminary investigation shows that Samuel Stephens was stopped on his bicycle on the south curb line in the 3400 block of W. Slaughter Lane. He collided with the right rear quarter panel of a grey, 2017 Chevrolet Cruze as he attempted to cross over to the north curb line.
 
Mr. Stephens was transported by Austin-Travis County EMS to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries on February 6, 2021.
 
The driver of the Chevrolet remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators. There are no charges expected.
