The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department and The Trail Foundation are beginning a process to develop a plan for Holly Point.
Community Open House
Saturday, June 8, 2019
10 AM to noon
35 Robert T. Martinez Jr. Street
Holly Point is just west of the decommissioned Holly Power Plant at Festival Beach, adjacent to the lagoon and the baseball fields. The area is located in the Tejano neighborhood of East Cesar Chavez, home to generations of Hispanic residents who have worked to preserve the area’s character and its culturally historic sites.
Participants at the open house will enjoy coffee and breakfast tacos (while they last) and fun activities for kids. Parking is free in the Center’s lot. A short presentation from The Trail Foundation will inform participants about the process and invite their vision for the site plan. Those not able to attend are encouraged to provide their input online in English and Spanish by completing a survey at www.hollypoint.org.
