On April 2, 2021, at approximately 8:15 a.m. Austin 9-1-1 received a call for an unresponsive male located at 12113 Dessau Road. Austin-Travis County EMS and APD officers responded to the residence. The subject was pronounced deceased at 8:30 a.m. by Dr. Escott and was identified as Jorge Jaimes.
Homicide investigators and crime scene personnel were called to the scene and began to investigate. During witness interviews, investigators learned that the previous night, Mr. Jaimes and friends were together at Club Chicas Bonitas, located at 3701 N IH 35 Svrd NB. A physical altercation began inside the club and Mr. Jaimes attempted to intervene and prevent the subjects from fighting. Mr. Jaimes was struck at least once, by a then unidentified male suspect. It was reported Mr. Jaimes fell to the ground and was unconscious. After regaining consciousness, Mr. Jaimes refused on scene medical assistance from Austin-Travis County EMS, and left with his friends returning to their residence. Mr. Jaimes was discovered deceased in his bed the following morning.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy to determine the official manner and cause of death. Although the final ruling is pending toxicology, APD is investigating this incident as a Homicide.
On April 6, 2021, Homicide detectives issued an arrest warrant for William Eugene Colvin III for Aggravated Assault, Serious Bodily Injury, 2nd Degree Felony, $250,000 dollar bond. On April 7, 2021, Colvin was taken into custody by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
