Deceased:   Alexander A. Morgan Jr., Black male, born 06-23-1997
 
On Thursday, July 18, 2019, Austin 911 received a call of shots fired at the Rare Apartments. Austin police and EMS arrived on scene and located Alexander Morgan Jr. with gunshot wounds. Alexander was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where he remained in critical condition.
 
On Sunday, July 21, 2019, Austin Police were notified that Morgan had been declared brain dead by Dr. Coopwood at 1:33 p.m.
 
The Travis County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy in the near future to determine the exact cause of death. 
 
Based on information developed, there does not appear to be a threat to the public. Detectives continue to investigate.
