Time:           10:36 p.m.

Location:     4700 E. Riverside Dr.

Deceased:   Cary Timothy Champlin, White male, born 7-10-76

On Friday, July 26, at approximately 10:36 p.m., Austin 911 received a call of a man down inside an apartment located at 4700 E. Riverside Dr.  Austin Police and EMS paramedics arrived and located Cary Champlin who had sustained obvious trauma.  He was pronounced deceased at 10:50 p.m.
 
Austin Homicide detectives and crime scene units arrived to begin processing the scene.  They are speaking with witnesses and looking for more information.
 
The Travis County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy in the near future to determine the exact cause and manner of death. 
 
Detectives are investigating this incident as a homicide.
