On Saturday, July 20, 2019 at approximately 9:58 p.m., Austin 911 received calls of shots fired at The Arts Apartment complex. Austin police and Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the call locating a pregnant adult female with gunshot wounds.  Civilian witnesses provided first aid until officers and paramedics arrived. The female was transported to St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in critical condition. The baby was delivered and later transferred to Dell Children’s Medical Center. 

Detectives and crime scene arrived and began processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. 

On Sunday, July 28, 2019 Austin Police were notified that baby Guardiola had passed. The time of death was reported as 6:40 p.m.

The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy in the near future to determine the exact cause of death. 
This incident is being investigated as a homicide.
