On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at approximately 10:48 p.m., Austin 911 received multiple calls of shots fired in the 2100 block of Elmont Drive. Officers received updated information that a male had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located 21-year-old Paul Brown with a gunshot wound. Mr. Brown was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas where he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 4:02 a.m.
 
Investigators from the Austin Police Department aggravated assault and homicide units and crime scene specialists arrived to process the scene. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for video.
 
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.
