Deceased Suspect:   Jacob Barlow W/M,  08/24/1959

On Monday, June 20, 2022, at approximately 12:19 pm, APD officers responded to a call regarding shots fired at 8702 Bluegrass Dr. When officers arrived at the residence, they found Ashley Harris and Jacob Barlow with trauma to their bodies. Both were pronounced deceased at 12:53 pm and 12:55 pm.   

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene. Through investigation, homicide detectives are investigating this incident as a Murder/Suicide.   This case appears to have been an isolated incident between siblings.         

Ten days later, the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office conducted autopsies and determined the official manner of death for Ashley Harris was gunshot wounds, and the cause of death was a homicide. The official manner of death for Jacob Barlow was a gunshot wound, and the manner of death was suicide.
