Honor Flight Austin took 40 veterans from the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and World War II to visit the nation’s capital and experience the memorials
AUSTIN, Texas – On Friday, May 31, 2019, Honor Flight Austin took 40 veterans from the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and World War II to visit the nation’s capital and experience the memorials built in their honor. This is the 60th flight for Honor Flight Austin.
The veterans arrived in the ticketing area at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) around 8:30 a.m. and assembled for a procession from Security Checkpoint 1 to Gate 21 at approximately 10:30 a.m. The TSA Honor Guard and Austin Police Department bag pipes lead the procession.
Honor Flight Austin departed Austin-Bergstrom at 11:45 a.m., and arrived at Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) at 4:05 p.m. The veterans will return Saturday, June 1, departing from Reagan at 3 p.m. and arriving at AUS at 5:30 p.m., all times local.
