Passenger traffic growth was down 67.6% compared to January 2020 with 414,177 passengers in January 2021.
AUSTIN, TEXAS – The number of passengers traveling through Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in January 2021 remained lower than previous years due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Passenger traffic growth was down 67.6% compared to January 2020 with 414,177 passengers in January 2021.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January 2021 was 414,177 down 67.6% compared to January 2020. January 2021 enplanements totaled 201,794, down 67.9%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 136,646, down 67%; American Airlines passengers totaled 84,498, down 65.5%; United Airlines passengers totaled 66,104, down 64.2%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 54,329, down 70.8%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 25,214, down 66.2%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 17,228, down 63.5%; Alaska Airlines passengers 14,300, down 69.4%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 13,361, down 69.8%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 2,140, down 61.2%; and Swift Air passengers totaled 297, down 60.1%.
January 2021 air cargo totaled 19,855,247 lbs., up 30.4% compared to January 2020. International air cargo totaled 26,178 lbs., down 98%. Federal Express carried 7,528,124 lbs., up 1.8%; Sun Country Airlines carried 2,947,521 lbs.; Air Transport International carried 2,937,024 lbs.; and United Parcel Service carried 2,474,718 lbs., down 18.2%.
Air Services transferred 636,487 lbs. of mail, down 41.7%; and 381,954 lbs. of belly freight, down 76.6%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,122, down 5.7%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 10,400, down 36.5%.
