Passenger traffic growth for July 2021 was up 279.6% compared to July 2020 with 1,541,305 passengers flying during the month.
AUSTIN, TEXAS – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) passenger traffic growth for July 2021 was up 279.6% compared to July 2020 with 1,541,305 passengers flying during the month. This makes July 2021 the fifth busiest month in AUS history, following May, June, July and October of 2019.

Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for July 2021 was 1,541,305, up 279.6% compared to July 2020. July 2021 enplanements totaled 774,293, up 271.3%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 532,013, up 277.5%; American Airlines passengers totaled 339,708, up 285.5%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 213,388, up 672.9%; United Airlines passengers totaled 176,627, up 517.8%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 88,819, up 326%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 73,816, up 12.2%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 40,997, up 747.2%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 35,778, up 157.1%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 22,475, up 88.5%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 7,156; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 5,312, up 70.3%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 5,133; and Swift Air passengers totaled 83.
July 2021 air cargo totaled 17,891,095 lbs., down 7.4% compared to July 2020. International air cargo totaled 31,777 lbs., up 80.2%. Federal Express carried 7,914,984 lbs., up 0.6%; Southern Air carried 3,515,775 lbs.; and United Parcel Service carried 3,094,693 lbs., up 10%.
Air Services transferred 708,970 lbs. of mail, up 26.3%; and 1,195,310 lbs. of belly freight, up 107.3%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 3,695, up 24.8%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 18,636, up 68.4%.
January – July 2021
Passenger Activity: Total passenger traffic for January – July 2021 was 6,353,892, up 54.9%, compared to January – July 2020. January – July 2021 enplanements totaled 3,202,990, up 56.4%. Southwest Airlines passengers totaled 2,153,496, up 56.8%; American Airlines passengers totaled 1,415,213, up 71.5%; Delta Air Lines passengers totaled 888,499, up 67.5%; United Airlines passengers totaled 741,552, up 40.3%; Alaska Airlines passengers totaled 333,372, up 106.8%; Spirit Airlines passengers totaled 308,365, up 10.6%; JetBlue Airways passengers totaled 244,150, up 85.1%; Frontier Airlines passengers totaled 122,961, down 15%; Allegiant Air passengers totaled 110,990, up 105.6%; Hawaiian Airlines passengers totaled 18,393; Sun Country Airlines passengers totaled 10,542, up 139.6%; Aeromexico passengers totaled 5,133; and Swift Air passengers totaled 1,226, up 32.1%.
January – July 2021 air cargo totaled 123,644,339 lbs., up 13.7% compared to January – July 2020. International air cargo totaled 360,052 lbs., down 92.3%. Federal Express carried 52,784,603 lbs., down 1%; United Parcel Service carried 19,302,182 lbs., up 4.1%; Southern Air carried 16,813,959 lbs.; Amerijet International carried 10,719,811 lbs.; and Sun Country Airlines carried 6,841,586 lbs.
Air Services transferred 4,463,370 lbs. of mail, up 6%; and 5,297,714 lbs. of belly freight, down 27.9%.
Aircraft Operations: General Aviation operations totaled 24,499 for January – July 2021, up 31.7%. Combined operations (including commercial and military) totaled 99,619, up 28.2%.
