The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatic & Nature Based Programs Division will be hosting an aquatics hiring day on Monday, March 20th.

This event will provide those who are interested in working as a lifeguard, cashier, swim instructor or swim coach, the opportunity to complete an application, interview and register for the required training.
Applicants will need to bring valid identification and a social security card with them in order to complete an application, interview and register for any required training. These documents will be used to verify proof of citizenship and for payroll purposes. A U.S. Passport, driver’s license, government issued ID card or military ID is an acceptable form of identification. The applicants are free to come and go during these events as they please, and food and drink will be provided. Wages are dependent upon the position, experience and age of the applicant, and starting pay begins at $13.50 an hour.
Applicants that are 15-16 years old are required to have a parent present during the interview.
Applicants that are 17 years old require parent signatures on the applicant paperwork.
