On Friday, January 13, 2023, at approximately 10:17 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers responded to a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian, Kenneth Edward Wilson, in the 1900 block of E. William Cannon Drive. Wilson was hit by the vehicle when he attempted to cross the roadway. Wilson was taken to a hospital, where he died on January 23.

This incident is being investigated as Austin's 5th fatal crash of 2023, resulting in five fatalities for the year. On the date of this crash in 2022, one fatal crash resulted in two deaths.
