Arrested: Dietrich Hancock, Black male, 29 years of age (pictured below)
The Austin Police Department (APD) has arrested Dietrich Hancock for the October 3 homicide on Longspur Blvd.
On November 23, 2021, a warrant was issued for Dietrich Hancock charging him with Murder in this case. On December 20, 2021, the Lonestar Fugitive Task force located and apprehended Dietrich Hancock. He is currently being held on a $1,000,000.00 bond in Bexar County Jail.

The Austin Police Department (APD) has identified Jeremiah Johnson as the deceased in the October 3 homicide on Longspur Blvd.
At approximately 7:22 p.m., Austin 9-1-1 received calls reporting that multiple gunshots were heard in the 500 block of W. Longspur Blvd. APD officers arrived on scene and observed a male subject laying on the with apparent gunshot wounds. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but unfortunately, Dr. Abraham pronounced the male deceased victim at 7:36 p.m.
Homicide investigators and crime scene technicians responded to interview witnesses and process the scene.
On Monday, October 4, The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death, homicide.
