Austin-Travis County EMS is a professional healthcare organization that provides emergency medical services to the City of Austin and surrounding Travis County. We are a City of Austin department who partners with area first responders to provide assistance prior to our arrival; however, we are not part of the Fire Department or the Police Department. Being a third-city-service allows us to provide a much higher level of care and focus on doing one thing really well, out of hospital medical care.
WINTER STORM URI UPDATE: The Austin City Council waived fees for EMS services during Winter Storm URI. If you received EMS services between February 12, 2021 and February 20, 2021, EMS will conduct normal billing practices to insurance companies, however patients will not be responsible for out of pocket expenses (co-pays/co-insurance, deductibles, etc.). If you have received an invoice for services during this time, please contact our Billing office at 512-972-7210 or EMSBillingInfo@austintexas.gov so we can resolve the matter immediately.
UPDATE: Due to current response to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Austin-Travis County EMS Billing Office is open to in-person payments on Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays 7:30am to 4:30pm. To meet the needs of our patients, we will continue to offer an online payment option. We can be reached by phone at 512-972-7210 Monday through Friday 9:00am - 4:30pm.
