The Austin Parks and Recreation Department’s George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center is closed for renovations. The project is anticipated to last approximately 12 months, and the center is scheduled to reopen in early 2020.

Dove Springs Recreation Center offers Youth, Adult and Senior Programs as well as Sports Leagues and Special Events. The 18,000 square foot center contains: full court gymnasium, weight room, arts and crafts room/computer lab, class room, dance studio, conference room, lobby and television room. On the property are: 3 baseball fields, 3 soccer fields, 1 swimming pool, 2 outdoor tennis courts, 1 outdoor basketball court, 1 pavilion, 1 playscape, 1 sand volleyball pit, and a nature walking trail.

During this closure, access to the trails, playscape, pool, sports fields, and other open-space amenities will remain available.

Senior Programs will meet at the South Austin Neighborhood Center, located on Durwood Street.

Afterschool Program (2018 - 2019) will be hosted at Widen Elementary.  Camps hosted at Widen:

  • C day camps
  • Winter camps
  • Spring Break camps

Karate will be hosted at Southeast Library Tuesday/Thursdays:  5:30pm-6:30pm

Yoga will be hosted at Southeast Library Fridays from 9:30am – 10:30am

Youth Sports Programs will not be programmed out of George Morales Dove Springs Recreation Center for 2018 – 2019 season
