The Homeless Outreach Street Team, or HOST, helps people who are living on the streets in Austin. The team includes police officers, Community Health Paramedics (CHPs), qualified mental health professionals, and social workers from Downtown Community Court. 

How HOST Helps 

HOST visits people often, and they work hard to build trust. They don’t just offer help once; they keep coming back. 

HOST believes: 

  • Everyone deserves respect. 
  • Small steps can lead to big changes. 
  • Listening is just as important as helping.
