On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 8:22 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle in the 1100 block of West Parmer Lane. The pedestrian, later identified as Emilio Gonzalez, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced deceased on October 16, 2025. The driver of the motor vehicle remained on the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated with the investigation.
 
This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 76th fatal crash of 2025, resulting in 80 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2024, 69 fatal crashes resulted in 74 deaths. These statements are from the initial assessment of the fatal crash, and the investigation is still pending. Fatality information may change.
