Fire Hydrant Flow Test
The Austin Fire Marshal’s Office conducts fire hydrant flow testing to assess the capability of the water supply system to deliver sufficient flow and pressure for firefighting operations and building code compliance.
Tests are performed within the City of Austin’s permitting jurisdiction and in areas served by Austin Water.

- Hydrant Flow Request Form
Hydrant flow test reports are retained on file for one year from the test date.
To request a report on file or to request a new test, please complete the Hydrant Flow Test Request Form. Requests are accepted Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The office is closed on City-observed holidays.

- Report Hydrant Leak, Repainting and Repair Needs
Call Austin Water Dispatch at 512-972-1000 to report a leaking hydrant, a hydrant that need to be painted or a hydrant requiring repair.
