Submit an Integrated Pest Management plan

Integrated pest management is a continuous system for controlling pests such as weeds, diseases, insects, and others. Pest management options are based on effectiveness, environmental impact, site characteristics, worker/public health and safety, and economics. Integrated pest management takes advantage of all appropriate pest management options.

What to know before submitting a plan

After submitting your Integrated Pest Management plan information online, you will receive a response containing information to be included in your plan. A basic Integrated Pest Management plan will consist of this response, along with the appropriate Grow Green fact sheets and any other documentation listed in the response. Based on site plan review, you may be required to include additional elements in your plan.

This information must be distributed to the property owner and to any person or company responsible for on-site pest management, landscaping, or facility maintenance (e.g., homeowners, property managers, and maintenance companies).

Per the restrictive covenant that will accompany the Integrated Pest Management plan, the property owner(s) and their assignees are legally required to comply with the plan.

For Developers

If an Integrated Pest Management plan is required, developers should be informed during the development review process. It is then their responsibility to submit and comply with a plan. If the land is then sold, it is their responsibility to communicate the need for the new land owner to abide by the plan.

For Homeowners

If you own an individual parcel of land that requires a site plan review and no developer or previous owner has submitted an Integrated Pest Management plan, then it is your responsibility to do so.
