Experiencing AUS can be summed up in 3 words: Beats, Bites, Flights

The AUS concession program, “Beats, Bites and Flights,” is one-of-a-kind, just like Austin. The terminal is boiling and buzzing with local flavors and products inspired by local landmarks and business owners, welcoming newcomers to our City the best way possible: food, drinks, live music, and Austin-themed products. These things mix together to bring an eclectic and vibrant culture to our passengers.

Food options like ThunderCloud Subs and 24 Diner, and shopping options like Austin Mercantile, are as Austin as you can get, and it’s all thanks to our concession partners. They’re the people behind the scenes thinking of creative ways to continue bringing Austin’s personality to the terminal. A successful year of beats, bites and flights at AUS in 2023 looked like:

  • Hosting trailblazing pioneers of Texas whiskey, The Garrison Brothers, in the terminal this January for a tasting and toasting to celebrate the introduction of their Barrel-Aged Old Fashioned at the Saxon Pub.
  • Sponsoring the Austin Mac & Grilled Cheese Fest with the support of our concession partners: HMSHost, Paradies Lagardère and Delaware North.
  • Ranking #3 on USA Today’s “Best Airport for Dining (2023).”
  • The Peached Tortilla getting a shout out as one of the best restaurants for airport food after the holidays via Yelp.
  • Hosting local musicians at 8 different stages and areas 6 days a week.
  • Partnering with Austin-swimming-hole-inspired Deep Eddy Vodka to sponsor music at the Asleep at the Wheel stage and sell their refreshing beverages at the Saxon Pub.
  • One word: Queso (Thanks, Zocalo).
  • Two words: Smoked brisket (Thanks thanks, Salt Lick).

Coming up in 2024:

  • Our program will partner with KUT/KUTX for SXSW at the Scholz Garden this March.
  • Sponsor SXSW musical festival wristband remote giveaway with Waterloo Media ACL Radio to help raise donations for Make-A-Wish.
  • Celebrate AUS’s 25th anniversary this May.

“Waiting” gets new meaning at AUS, so join us for a beat or bite before your next flight.

And speaking of flights, this year was an exceptionally exciting and historic one. We were honored to welcome Copa Airlines as our newest international carrier offering nonstop flights to Panama City, Panama. We also welcomed nonstop destinations to Montrose, Colorado and Omaha, Nebraska, and celebrated the return of Vancouver and Calgary, Canada with Air Canada and WestJet.

Flights on the 2024 horizon:

  • Celebrating the 10th year anniversary of British Airways in Austin on March 3.
  • Launching Viva Aerobus nonstop flights to Monterrey, Mexico on March 22.
  • New nonstop flights to: Eugene, Oregon with Allegiant starting May 31 and Montreal, Canada with Air Canada starting May 2.

If 2024 is anything like 2023, you can bet there will be even more bites that rock and beats that roll at AUS.
