On Friday, April 4, 2026, at approximately 9:41 p.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on the ramp from North IH 35 Southbound to US 290 Eastbound. The driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced deceased on scene.

This incident is being investigated as Austin’s 22nd fatal crash of 2026, resulting in 22 fatalities. On the date of this crash in 2025, 21 fatal crashes resulted in 25 deaths.
