Austin, TX - Austin Watershed Protection invites the public and members of the media to this year’s Flood Safety Fest, a free, family-friendly event focused on flood awareness, safety education, and community engagement.
The event will be Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Lee Lewis Campbell Elementary School, 2613 Rogers Avenue.
The event is an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy interactive and engaging activities and learn how to stay safe during flooding events:

A highlight of the event will be announcing the winners of the Flood Safety Video Contest. For this contest, 6th through 12th grade students from Austin and surrounding areas created short videos promoting the message, “Turn Around – Don’t Drown®” when encountering flooded roadways.
The festival marks the end of Flood Safety Awareness Week in Austin, which runs from April 13 through April 17, 2026. This event underscores Austin Watershed Protection’s commitment to public safety and education, especially as Central Texas faces ongoing flood risks.
