We deliver technology that strengthens City departments’ ability to serve, support, and engage the people of Austin and the Central Texas region.
Support Services
Citizen Services:
- Address Management Services: Request an address verification letter, request a new address, or inquire about other addressing services.
- Austin Build + Connect (AB+C): Allows registered users to apply for some permits, schedule inspections, pay fees, upload project attachments, and more.
- Austin Open Data Portal: A public data-sharing site for residents, community members and anyone interested in accessing and using the City’s data.
- Virtual Reality Tours: ATS provides the technology support to create virtual reality tours for our partner departments across the City. Examples include a virtual reality tour of the Asian American Resource Center, a virtual reality tour of the Carver Museum, and more!
Partnerships:
- Greater Austin Area Telecommunications Network (GAATN): Formed in 1993 through an interlocal agreement, GAATN is a joint effort of local entities and is managed in partnership with Austin Technology Services to construct and maintain a fiber‑optic network that supports our partners’ electronic communications. The GAATN network includes more than 350 miles of fiber‑optic cable and connects over 500 partner sites.
- Greater Austin-Travis County Regional Radio System (GATRRS): A radio network managed by the City of Austin in partnership with local and regional entities. Its purpose is to provide highly reliable voice communications for public safety and public service organizations.
City Services:
- Public Safety Technology: Enables mission-critical 24/7/365 operational support to public safety departments within the City of Austin, ensuring first responders stay connected and ready to serve.
- Applications and Project Support: Maintains geospatial services, data and analytics support, business relationship and project management, as well as employee and resident-facing digital design and development.
- Infrastructure & Operations: Provides enterprise infrastructure, WIFI, security, and hardware to support Citywide services and technology.
- Information Security: Standardizes the framework, leadership, and services to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and technology for City departments.
