Final Hazard Mitigation Action Plan Public Meeting Scheduled
The City of Austin is updating its Hazard Mitigation Action Plan (HMAP) and will host its final public meeting before the update is completed.
The meeting will provide an overview of the HMAP and offer community members, organizations, and agencies an opportunity to share feedback on hazards that impact the community. Once finalized, the plan will guide how Austin prepares for future disasters and receives funding for mitigation projects.
April 16, 3-5 p.m. @ Yarborough Branch, Austin Public Library, 2200 Hancock Dr., Austin, TX
Your feedback helps strengthen Austin’s resilience and preparedness. All community members are encouraged to participate either in person or by completing the survey at tinyurl.com/austinhmap.
The HMAP is updated every five years to identify and assess the potential impacts of natural and human-caused hazards that threaten Austin. Hazards are identified through a review of historical records, national data sources, existing plans and reports, and collaboration with local, regional, and national experts.
To learn more about HMAP, visit the Austin Emergency Management website. For questions about the event, or HMAP, email Austin Emergency Management.
