Educational Programs and Classes
Education
The George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center offers quality programming and classes that emphasize African American and African Diaspora contributions to the arts, history, culture, and society, to Austin and the surrounding communities of Austin and Central Texas. The Carver's Education Team facilitates museum tours, ongoing classes, outreach programs, summer camps, a volunteer program, and more.
Museum Tours
Our museum staff is knowledgeable and passionate about the history within our walls. We are always looking forward to leading individual or group tours of all sizes!
Ongoing Classes
The George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center offers affordable classes for all generations in the fall season between October and and December. From photography, to crochet, to dance, and DJ classes, we have a little something for everyone.
Summer Camps at The Carver
Summer Camps provide cultural arts enrichment and one-of-a-kind experiences. In partnership with Austin Parks & Recreation, Austin Arts, Music, Culture, & Entertainment provides accessible, diverse, and inclusive summer camps, and now offers early registration for community participants who qualify for financial aid, adaptive and inclusion support programs. Visual and performing arts, culture and history summer camp programs preserve and protect the past, celebrate Austin’s diversity, build community, and develop awareness and appreciation for the arts.
