APD Detectives Seek Public's Help in Locating a Suspect in an Aggravated Assault Case

Location: 300 Block of Lavaca Street

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, Austin Police (APD) officers responded to reports of a stabbing at the Capital Metro bus stop located in the 300 block of Lavaca Street. When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from significant injuries and bleeding heavily. APD officers, in coordination with Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS), provided immediate lifesaving measures before the victim was transported to a local hospital.

During the investigation, APD detectives obtained surveillance footage from multiple sources that captured the suspect boarding a Capital Metro bus and exiting at the scene of the incident. Images of the suspect taken before and after the assault are included below.

This case is under active investigation as an aggravated assault, and the Austin Police urges anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect to come forward.
