Reclaimed Water Bulk Water Facility
Austin Water operates reclaimed water bulk water facilities at several locations in the Austin area, making reclaimed water available to customers with water hauling trucks. These facilities help conserve drinking water for uses that don't require potable water, reduce demand on fire hydrants for non-potable needs and extend reclaimed water access to those without a direct connection to a reclaimed water main.

Approved Uses
Reclaimed water from bulk water facilities may be used for non-potable purposes, including:
- Tree irrigation
- Dust control
- Construction uses
- Other non-potable applications
Set Up an Account
Bulk water facilities are accessed using a keypad with an account number and PIN issued when an account is established. Accounts may be charged an annual inactivity fee for each year the account remains inactive until the balance reaches zero.
To open an account, complete the Bulk Water Account Application (PDF) and email it to AWBulkfill@austintexas.gov. You can also submit an application in person at Waller Creek Center, 625 E. 10th St., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78701. Check in with security in the first-floor lobby.
Adding Funds
Bulk water facilities operate on a prepaid basis. To add funds to your account, call 512-972-0483 or email AWBulkfill@austintexas.gov.
Using a Filling Station
Once your account is set up, drive to the facility and align your vehicle's filling port with the filling arm. Enter your access number and PIN, enter the number of gallons you need and press START. To stop flow at any time, press STOP.

Facilities are located where a reclaimed water main is available, fire hydrant demand is high and City-owned property is accessible.
