Community Level threshold levels teeter between low and medium

Vigilance advised as COVID-19 key indicators fluctuate

AUSTIN, Texas – The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) weekly update lists Travis County's Community Level as low. A key determining metric for Community Levels, new cases per 100K population in the last 7 days, alternated between 202.99 and 190. When the numbers are this close, please err on the side of caution by following medium guidelines if you are at risk in order to drive down the case count.

In March 2022, Austin Public Health (APH) updated the local Risk-Based Guidelines to align with CDC Community Level designations. Moving forward, please routinely check for updates on Community Levels on APH's Key Indicators dashboard, AustinTexas.gov/COVID19 or APH social media channels:
