Austin-Travis County EMS serves over 1,300 square miles, including all of Travis County and parts of Williamson and Hays Counties. Eighteen cities are included in this service area, including the City of Austin, the 11th largest city in the U.S.

ATCEMS operates 40 full-time ambulances and seven peak load units. The vast majority of our units are equipped to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) care and are staffed with at least one paramedic and EMT-B level or higher. Additionally, ATCEMS has recently launched a BLS transport pilot program with one ambulance staffed with two BLS providers.

Communication Medics triage incoming calls and dispatch EMS personnel in order to respond to 911 calls in the most efficient manner possible to maximize system response.
