Effective April 6, 2015, the Planning and Development Review Department was reorganized into the Development Services Department and the Planning and Zoning Department.

The Development Services Department includes the Development Assistance Center, Building Plan Review, Land Use Review, Permit Center and Inspections.  Rodney Gonzales will serve as Acting Director.

The Planning and Zoning Department includes Imagine Austin, CodeNEXT, Comprehensive Planning, Neighborhood Planning, Annexation, Urban Design, Zoning, Demographics, and GIS.  Greg Guernsey will serve as Director. The websites for each respective department are currently under construction.  Please check back for updates.

The purpose of the Planning and Development Review Department (PDRD) is to provide planning, preservation, design, comprehensive development review and inspection services to make Austin the most livable city in the country.
