PERMITTING FOR SPECIAL EVENTS

As construction in Austin continues to increase, event planners are reminded that event locations and routes may be affected.  Please refer to the Growth Watch website for assistance.  These resources may not be inclusive to all possible construction; City staff will assist event planners in these coordination efforts.

Planning an event?  Fill out the Temporary Event Information Questionnaire and schedule an appointment for review with the Austin Center for Events: 512-974-1000.

Building Permits Guidelines for Special Events (Temporary Stages and Platforms)

Deadlines will vary depending on event specifications.  For example:  21 days prior to a 1 day event, 30 days prior to the event start date for events lasting multiple days.  Any events in the public Right of Way have an application deadline of 180 days and it must be submitted through ROWMAN.  Other deadlines may also apply.
