Austin Water has many water conservation resources to help protect our drinking water supply. We are currently under mandatory Stage 2 watering restrictions. On August 16, 2012, Austin City Council voted 6-0 to revise Austin’s water use management strategy, including the Water Conservation Code and Drought Management Plan. These documents outline how customers of the City’s water utility may use water. Beyond adhering to watering restrictions, there is plenty our residential and commercial customers can to do conserve water and save money in the process.
As a collaborative partnership with Austin Water, the Joint Committee assisted in developing recommendations for short-term and long-term financial plans to strengthen the financial stability of Austin Water Utility.
